The Return of the Land: Land Back, Indigenous Sovereignty, and Lineage of the Soul

My journey into the depths of ancestral memory began in Spain, where I was born into a lineage of curanderas — Medicine Women. In 2011, I felt a persistent, bone-deep call to return to the Americas. I say "returning" because my soul had inhabited those lands for multiple lifetimes: as a Native American in the south of Texas and in the rugged landscapes of Idaho. Just before crossing the Atlantic, I was visited by a dream of an Indigenous tribe. They were calling me to recover the lands, explaining that what had been stolen belonged to me before. At the time, living in Europe, the concepts of Land Back, Indigenous sovereignty, and the lineage of the soul were not yet part of my conscious vocabulary, but my spirit recognized the truth.
The realization began to take shape in Maryland, where I was teaching Spanish Culture and Civilization. I encountered a student from South America who was deeply triggered by the history of colonization; her family stories were rife with betrayal by the Spanish. I realize now that I was witnessing a profound case of historical trauma. She was perhaps an old Native American soul, much like mine, navigating the fractured identity of the colonized.
It was in Texas that the memories fully resurfaced. I began to recall the German invasion in Boerne and the theft of land via the river. In that historical timeline, I was an Indigenous woman within a Navajo tribe. I felt the devastation of the men being killed and the crushing weight of captivity. Returning to that same land nearly two centuries later, now as a woman in this lifetime, I experienced the somatic echoes of that unwelcoming environment — the modern faces of racism and the haunting residue of historical sexual violence. It was only by acknowledging this deep-seated grief and reclaiming my spiritual path as a shamanic practitioner that I was able to heal my relationship with the land and feel welcome once again.
Today, based in Washington near the Idaho border, I integrate these personal insights into my professional practice at Mind, Body and Spirit Teletherapy. As a past life therapist and shamanic practitioner, I specialize in helping individuals navigate historical trauma, soul wounds, and the complexities of wounded reincarnation.
My "Whole-Person" care model bridges the gap between clinical psychological support and transpersonal work, helping clients feel liberated from the imprints of captivity and reclaim their sovereign selves.
